Requirements to Become a Flight Instructor

To become a Certified Flight Instructor, you’ll need to meet certain requirements set by the FAA. These requirements ensure you have the necessary skills, knowledge, and experience to effectively teach and guide other pilots.

Be at Least 18 Years Old

Hold a Valid Commercial Pilot's License

Meet Required Aeronautical Experience

Pass Required Aeronautical Knowledge Test
